The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), Plc, Deolu Ijose, said on Friday that his company was collaborating with security agencies in its four franchise states to enhance service delivery.

Ijose stated this during a courtesy visit to the Commandant, 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army Benin, Brigadier General Ndahi, D. H., in his office.

The BEDC Managing Director said his visit to the command with his management team was to familiarise themselves with the Brigade and seek collaboration in protecting the personnel and assets of the company in its franchise states of Edo, Ekiti, Delta, and Ondo.

“The visit is geared towards collaborating with the Army and appreciating the robust working relationship between the Command and BEDC, especially his swift response to a request for his men to work around our infrastructure.

“I decry the alarming increase in vandalism and energy theft in the Disco’s network, and I call on the Command to assist in the protection of BEDC installations to enable work to go on effectively”, Ijose said.

At the office of the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dankwara, and the State Director of State Services, Maria Ernest, Ijose commended the duo for making the state safe and for their continuous support in protecting the personnel and assets of BEDC.

This was just as he further appealed for more collaboration and mutual relationships between the police, the DSS, and BEDC.

The BEDC boss commended the security chiefs for effective electricity bill payments while urging them to increase their monthly bill payment.

Responding, the CP thanked Ijose and his team for the visit and promised to maintain the mutual relationship that has existed between the two establishments over the years.

The DSS boss, on her part, also declared her willingness to assist the company through intelligence gathering and execution.
