It was a difficult time for me.
Nursing Achilles heel tendon injury was a difficult moment of my career at a time I was enjoying my game with Trabzonspor.
I was not paid for a year and I even thought I was not going to play football again in my life, but God showed me mercy and here I am back on my feet.
Onazi joined Al-Adalah of Saudi Arabia last season to become the second Nigerian at the club with former home-based forward Tunde Adeniji already a key member of the squad.
The 29-year-old former Lazio star last played for Turkish club Denizilispor, returning to the club 12 months after leaving over unpaid wages
His long battle with injury threw his place in the national team up for grabs even though the former union international is working hard to stage a comeback.
Since leaving Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor in January 2020, Onazi has played for Danish club Sonderjyke and Zalgiris of Lithuania.
