Nollywood actress, Chika Ike, has strongly refuted claims that she is pregnant for popular billionaire politician Ned Nwoko and planning to become his seventh wife.
In a statement posted on her Instagram page on Tuesday, Ike dismissed the speculation as baseless, emphasising that she had kept her pregnancy private for months and had no intention of revealing personal details.
According to her, she is not ready to be anyone’s seventh wife, stressing that she values her privacy and is not interested in polygamy.
“Ned isn’t the Father of my child and whoever name you might come up with later with your guessing games and like I’ve said before I’m not about to be anyone’s 7th wife! Polygamy isn’t for me,” she declared.
The actress also expressed her frustration with persistent rumours about her personal life, stating that she usually ignores them but felt compelled to respond this time because the speculation involved her child.
“There have been all sorts of lies paddled about me in the media for years but I always treated them like what they are, RUMOURS THAT NEEDED NO RESPONSE. But this is different, this is about my CHILD,” she wrote.
Ike further criticised those spreading false narratives, describing their efforts as “very laughable and clueless,” and reiterated that she is focused on enjoying her pregnancy.
“My privacy is my peace and NO ONE can unsettle me. I’m basking in the euphoria of my pregnancy and that’s all that matters to me now.”
Tribune Online reports that Nwoko, who serves as the senator representing Delta North Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate, had earlier dismissed the rumour, describing it as entirely baseless and a product of malicious speculation.
