Milan wants consistency from Chukwueze to reject suitors from Saudi Arabia – Football News Now

Date:

Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze scored the winner for AC Milan in their game against Udinese over the weekend. After a tough start to the season, this was crucial for the winger and he’s now open to fully convince the Rossoneri management.

It didn’t take long for Milan to strike against the Friuli side and they did so through Chukwueze, who fired a composed finish past the goalkeeper. In our player ratings, he was named the MOTM for his performance and hopefully, he’s now on the right path.

Chukwueze rejected hefty offers from Saudi Arabia to join Milan in the summer of 2023. More specifically, he was offered over €10m per season by two different clubs, but he made it clear to his entourage that he only wanted the Rosoneri.

Recently, given the struggles with the red and black shirt, Saudi clubs reached out to the entourage yet again but Chukwueze shut the door this time as well. On the other hand, Milan will evaluate any opportunities on the Mercato.

As such, the only way for Chukwueze to stay at Milan is to showcase ‘total and definitive growth’. Saturday’s clash was a big step in the right direction and as the reports also state, he has been working better in training recently.

Meanwhile, the refereeing in the game between AC Milan and Udinese left a lot to be desired, with Daniele Chiffi receiving heavy criticism from both sides. Among other things, a nasty stamp on Chukwueze was left unpunished.

One situation left the fans, as well as the Milan players, furious as Isaak Touré committed a clear stamp on Chukwueze. The stamp continued for a few good seconds as well, with the Nigerian understandably in great pain, but the referee didn’t even give a yellow card.

Despite the frustration that the officiating caused, Milan battled and deservedly clinched all three points. Udinese’s disallowed equaliser at the death may have only been a few centimetres offside, but the truth is that it would have been very lucky for the away side.

The next game is against Club Brugge in the Champions League and one can hope that the officiating will be better. On the other hand, it was far from good against Bayer Leverkusen.
