About Mining in Nigeria, if You Really have Interest
The mining of minerals in Nigeria accounts for only 0.3% of its gross domestic product, due to the influence of its vast oil resources. The domestic mining industry is underdeveloped, leading to Nigeria having to import minerals that it could produce domestically, such as salt or iron ore. The government is trying to diversify the economy by developing the mining sector and encouraging private investors.
Some of the top mining companies in Nigeria are:
Eta-Zuma Group: This big group combines eight companies that explore and mine coal, gold, iron ore, and other solid minerals across Nigeria.
Kinsfield Energy Limited: This company is involved in oil and gas exploration and production, as well as mining and processing of gold and tantalite ore.
Nigerian Mining Corporation: This is a state-owned company that operates mines and processes minerals such as gold, barytes, kaolin, tin, and terrazzo. It has several subsidiaries across the country.
YAMUSA MINING AND ENGINEERING NIGERIA LIMITED: This is a private company limited by shares that was founded in 2001 and has its registered address in Langtang North L.G.A, Plateau State, Nigeria. It has four directors and its primary activity is unspecified.
