The Deputy President of the Senate, Jibrin Barau, has congratulated Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and the Kogi State Governor-elect, Usman Ododo, on their victories at the just-concluded governorship elections.
The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Uzodimma and Ododo, the candidates of the All Progressives Congress winners of the governorship elections conducted in Imo and Kogi states respectively on Saturday.
Barau, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, described the victories of Uzodimma and Ododo as an expression of the confidence of the people of the two states in the programmes and policies of the APC.
The victories, he said, would enable Uzodimma to consolidate his developmental projects in Imo State and Ododo to continue the pro-people programmes of Governor Yahaya Bello in Kogi State.
The statement partly read, “The victory is also a result of the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national chairman of our great party, Dr Addullahi Umar Ganduje, which has made our party more cohesive.”
