The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, has called on Nigerians to rally round the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to replicate the good governance being enjoyed in the state at the national level
Ambassador Arapaja stated that this call became imperative in view of the fact that Nigerians are yearning for somebody who will correct the state of insecurity, maladministration, poverty, unemployment, and the worsening health care system as being experienced since 2015, when the APC came to power.
Arapaja, who made this assertion today while addressing the delegates and stakeholders at the State Congress of the PDP held at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, noted that Governor Makinde has demonstrated that he has the capacity and capability to restore the hope of Nigerians and give them good governance as he has been doing in Oyo State since 2019.
Commenting on the congress, Arapaja further lauded Governor Makinde for the uncommon leadership he has displayed in ensuring rancour-free, fair, and credible congresses to elect the officers that will run the affairs of the party for another four years at the ward, local, and state levels, respectively.
While congratulating the re-elected Chairman of the party in the State, Prince Dayo Ogungbenro and all other newly elected party executives, Arapaja pointed out that their re-election was as a result of their loyalty, resilience, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the party and a reflection of the trust and confidence that members of the party reposed in their ability having led the party in the past to victory.
He thereafter enjoined them to see their emergence as a call to service and therefore should rededicate themselves to the ideals of the party and work in unison for the purpose of strengthening it to win the 2027 elections, both at the state and at the national levels.
