Nigerian Afrobeats star, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has replied to England women’s national team coach, Sarina Wiegman, after she jokingly invited him to dance during her acceptance speech at the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.
Wiegman, who was named Coach of the Year (Women) on Monday night for leading the Lionesses to their first-ever European Championship victory abroad in Switzerland, ended her speech on a playful note.
She told the audience, “Let’s celebrate our successes too, and if Burna Boy is around, maybe we could do a little bit of dancing too.”
Reacting in a post on his official X handle, Burna Boy wrote, “haha, I’m up for it Sarina! A huge congrats to you and the team @Lionesses.”
The exchange has since gone viral, drawing excitement from fans of both the coach and the Grammy award-winning singer.
It will be recalled that Wiegman, 55, has openly described Burna Boy as one of her favourite artistes.
She was also surprised by his live performance at Buckingham Palace during the Lionesses’ Euro 2025 homecoming parade, a moment that thrilled her and the players.
