Former Nigerian international, Dosu Joseph says Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen should not be held responsible for Napoli’s exit from the UEFA Champions League.

Recall that Napoli lost 3-1 to Barca in the Round of 16 to win 4-2 on aggregate on Tuesday at Camp Nou.

In a chat with Completesports.com, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist, stated that Osimhen gave his best to the team in the second leg.

“I really don’t think Osimhen should be blamed for Napoli’s exit from the Champions League.

“This is football and its a team game where everybody should have pushed very hard to ensure they get the positive result. The fact that Osimhen didn’t score does not mean that he should be held responsible for their defeat against Barca.

“Like you know, Osimhen always give his best for Napoli and it is the responsibility or the other players step up for others when they are not getting it right.”
